Today I am thankful for “Pregnancy Tea”.

Many of the blogs I follow have talked about the benefits of tea, red raspberry leaf in particular, during pregnancy. I found this recipe from an ebook called Super Pregnancy Foods and I have been drinking a quart a day. On the days I forget to make it I can notice a difference so I really do think it helps with hormonal balances specifically in helping me get back to sleep when I get awaken and in sleeping harder when I drink it.

Here is the recipe:

4 Parts red clover      0.3lb

4 Parts red raspberry leaf.    0.3lb

2 Parts Oat Straw.            0.15lb

2 Parts Nettle Leaf.          0.15lb

1 Part Passionflower.       0.075lb (I couldn’t find this one at my local coop so I didn’t use it)

Mix everything together and store. Use 1/4 cup in a quart jar, pour boiling water and let it seep over night. Drink throughout the day (strain the herbs first).

Did you find anything helpful during pregnancy?

Day 13: I am thankful for our church family and for the exciting things that God is doing in our midst. I am thankful for the unity and peace that is felt in the people. And I am thankful for the precious children God is bringing to our new Awana program on Wednesday nights. I have been enjoying serving food to these kids and tonight I get to sub for someone in one of the rooms. It is wonderful to hear children share their memory verses!

Day 14: I am thankful for prayer and the power of prayer. I am leaning into God right now for some people in my life and while I don’t always know what to pray, I know that my prayers matter. If nothing else it keeps my heart right. God is good!

Today I am thankful for snow and cold weather!

I have always loved winter even though the fall is probably my favorite but this year I am especially thankful for winter because it means that my due date for baby is approaching! And I can’t wait to meet this precious little one growing in me. 🙂

(This is my third attempt at writing this. What’s up WordPress?)

Today I am thankful for veterans and for those currently serving in our military.

I recognize the many days you have spent away from your family just to keep me safe. I recognize that your spouses have had to be single parents while you are away serving. This is a huge sacrifice to do day in and day out for months in a row. I recognize that many of you have come back wounded in one way or another because of the effects of war. And I cannot say thank you enough for doing this for me, my family and our country. You are a blessing and you are appreciated!

Father, please keep our military safe and bring healing to all those wounded in any way. Bless the marriages and families that have sacrificed too. Draw the families near to each other and use them in powerful ways for Your Kingdom’s sake. In Jesus Name. Amen!

Today I am thankful for truth.

I got the opportunity to listen to a session of our friend’s seminar this morning. He was teaching on rejection and the ways rejection works in our lives. I gained some more helpful insight into some if my own struggles and wounds that still need healed. I love seeing God’s word come alive to speak to us.

I am also reminded that truth is a person – Jesus – the way, the TRUTH and the life. Thank You Jesus for revealing yourself to me today!

Today I am thankful for the wisdom and counsel of a precious counselor and friend of ours.

Without getting into details, Josh and I were able to meet with a friend of ours to help us work through some challenges we are facing (not with each other). The time was wonderful and helpful and I am very thankful for it.

Thank You Father for the many ways You use people to speak through and bring Your counsel. Thank You for the gifts You give people and thank You for the obedience of our friend to use those gifts for Your glory! I love You Lord and my hope is in You!

Today I am thankful for quiet mornings to myself.

I try to get up before the kids do in order to have time with The Lord and to myself. It doesn’t always happen because I am really tired so I sleep in or the kids get up super early (especially when you have daylight savings…I think they are finally adjusted to the time!). The days where I can have some alone time always seem to go better than the days I don’t.

This morning was beautiful and just what I needed and I am very thankful for it.

What about you? Do you need alone time? Is it usually in the morning, evening or some other time in the day?
